Description
Hill House is a detached house located on Gloucester Street in Painswick, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is constructed of dressed coursed squared limestone, featuring a stone slate roof on the front slope and a concrete tile roof on the rear slope, with two ridge stacks. It stands two storeys high and has four windows, all of which are 12-pane sash windows set on stone sills. The third bay features an arched head and lacks glazing bars. Below this window is a four-panel flush door with a transom light, which is sheltered by a flat hood with a moulded edge supported by wrought iron brackets. The entrance is raised on two sandstone steps. The right side of the house has a segmental hipped bay with a 12-pane sash window, while the left side includes a one-storey lean-to and an additional entrance door.
