Description
Tudor House is a small detached house, likely built in the early 16th century, with a rear extension added in the late 20th century. The front gable, which projects to the left, features partial timber framing with roughcast infill on a stone plinth. To the right, there is a wing made of random coursed rubble stone with flush quoins. The roof, originally thatched, is now covered with concrete tiles and has a central rendered ridge stack. The house is designed in an L-shape, with a lobby entry in the angle, and consists of a single storey and an attic. The gable includes small double 4-pane casements on each floor, a plank door in the angle, and two paired casements to the right. There are also inserted dormers on the left-hand return. Inside, the house features chamfered and stopped beams, some joists, and large back-to-back timber bressumer fireplaces with chamfered stone cheeks. There are remains of a newel stair to one side with a throughway below.
