Description
Standish House stable range is a former stable and carriage house associated with Standish House, which was previously known as Standish Hospital. The building dates from around 1830 and is constructed of coursed stone with ashlar quoins, dressings, keystones, and cornice bands. It has a U-shaped layout, with a central bay that slightly projects. The carriage house features paired elliptical arches, and there is a round-arched opening on the first floor that breaks into a pediment. The ground floor has round-arched openings linked by cornice bands, while the first floor windows are smaller, cambered arches, mostly designed as casements.
