Description
The building known as the Lock-up opposite Court Farmhouse is a former detached house that was later used as a lock-up and is now disused. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with a concrete tile roof. The structure is two stories high with an attic, built into the bank at the rear.
The front features a single central three-light chamfered mullioned casement window with a hoodmould on the ground floor, and to the left, there is a doorway with a deep stone lintel and a plank door. On the upper floor, there are two two-light casements. The north end has a blocked upper floor doorway with a timber lintel, and there is a former two-light attic casement, with one light blocked. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of a group with Long Court and Court Farmhouse located on the opposite side of the road.
