Description
The Thatched Cottage is a small detached cottage, possibly originally two cottages, dating from the 17th century. It features square panel timber-framing with painted brick infill set on a stone plinth, topped by a thatched roof with a decorative ridge. The roof is half-hipped to the right and has a stone end stack with a rebuilt blue brick flue to the left; it may have originally had a stone ridge stack in the center, above a section of walling that is painted rubble stone. The cottage is a single-storey structure with an attic and has a small two-light eyebrow dormer. Below the dormer, there are two small 20th-century casements, and to the right, there is a blocked two-light window. A half-glazed later door is located on the left-hand return behind the stack.
