Description
No 28 on High Street is a former inn that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. The building is rendered, possibly covering partial timber framing and a rubble stone ground floor. It features a double Roman tile roof and has two brick stacks. The structure is a single range with a rear extension and stands two storeys high.
The facade includes three windows, which are twin 3-pane casements. On the ground floor, there is a large multi-pane bow window to the left, which has a curved dentil course above it. In the center, there are double doors with a moulded wood surround, and to the right, there is a canted bay. Both the bay and the doors are sheltered by a slate-roofed canopy that has a moulded wooden cornice. Additionally, there is roll moulding inset at a high "dado" level in the wall plaster that runs across the entire facade.
