Description

The Richard Capel monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 2 meters south of the nave of the Church of St John the Baptist. Dated 1656, it is made of limestone and features a rectangular shape with lozenge designs at each end. The north side has two panels, each also adorned with raised lozenges. The top of the tomb has a complex moulded design. The south side is inscribed with the name 'RICHARD . CAPEL . MINISTER', indicating that he died in 1656.
