Description
This is a barn and cattle shelter built in the early 19th century, located approximately 70 meters north of Nether Lypiatt Manor. The barn features squared rubble limestone construction, while the shelter shed has ashlar piers and stone slate roofs. The barn has five bays and includes a central gabled porch with a timber lintel and plank barn doors. On the west side, there are barn doors arranged in-line without a porch, each flanked by three slit vents. There are also loft doorways at the gable ends. The shelter shed is supported by circular columns with plain square capitals and has a collar and tie beam roof. Inside, the roof has been rebuilt in the 20th century with a collar and tie beam truss and three rows of purlins, along with inserted lofts at each end. This structure is part of a group that includes a coach house and stables.
