Description
Toadsmoor Mill is a former mill that has been partly converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed from coursed and dressed limestone, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. The building is two storeys high, with an attic and a cellar, and features a return wing at the west end. The main block has five windows, each with 2-light casements that have segmental arched heads. There are various cellar openings, some of which are mullioned. A lower addition to the west includes a cross-wing that has similar window styles. The main block also has flush roof-lights. Access to the upper floor is provided by a doorway in the east end, which is reached via a timber bridge from the bank. There are similar segmental arched doorways leading to the attic and ground floor, as well as a circular window in the east gable. The interior has not been inspected. This building was formerly known as Upper Toadsmoor Mill and was used for cloth production.
