Description

A pair of houses built around 1835, located within a terrace on Southgate Street in Gloucester. The buildings are part of a wider group, including numbers 123 to 131 to the north and number 137 to the south. They are constructed of brick with plastered frontages, and have slate roofs topped with brick stacks and ceramic chimney pots. The houses are arranged as a double-depth block, with mirrored designs and service wings at the rear.

The exterior features three storeys and basements, with the basement walls set back. Number 133 has a sill band on the first floor. A moulded stone cornice runs along the top of the building, below a low parapet. The entrance doorways are adjacent and have stone steps leading to the thresholds; each has a simple fanlight above a 20th-century door. Each house has a single sash window on the ground floor, and two sashes on the first and second floors, all with 3x4 panes of glazing. The single basement windows have been altered in the 20th century.

The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
