Description

This is a house dating to around 1835, situated at the south end of a terrace that includes numbers 133 and 135 Southgate Street. It was originally built as a double-depth house with a service wing at the rear. The exterior is brick, covered with a stucco finish, and features a slate roof and a brick stack topped with ceramic chimney pots. The appearance is of three storeys and a basement. The basement wall is slightly offset, and the ground floor is rusticated between pilaster strips. The upper floors have pilasters with recessed panels running the full height. A plain parapet tops the building. The ground floor entrance is on the left, with a flight of stone steps leading to a six-panel door and a fanlight above. A 20th-century window is located to the right of the entrance. The upper floors have two 20th-century sash windows in each floor, set within original openings and featuring projecting stone sills. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
