Description

The Statue of Queen Anne is located on the south side of Spa Fields Sports Ground. It was sculpted by John Ricktts and dates from 1711 to 1712. The statue is made of limestone, which has become badly weathered over time. Originally, it was erected at the north end of Southgate Street, then moved to the garden of Paddock House on Pitt Street around 1780. In 1839, it was relocated to College Green, and finally, it was placed at its current site in 1865.
