Description

Three houses, numbers 2, 3, and 4 Beaufort Buildings, are part of a terrace constructed in 1818 for the Gloucester Spa Company. The buildings are of stuccoed brick, painted white, with slate roofs and brick stacks located on the party walls. They are a double-depth block, with rear wings.

The exterior presents three storeys and a basement. The front elevation of each house has three bays, with a slightly recessed bay at one end and, between numbers 3 and 4, entrances offset to one side of the central bay. Features include an offset plinth, a raised band at first-floor sill level, and a raised band indicating the former moulded cornice, topped with a coped parapet. Each ground floor has an identical Ionic porch and entrance, approached by stone steps partially within the porch. The doorways to numbers 2 and 3 have timber frames with rectangular fanlights and narrow sidelights, while the doorway to number 4 has a semicircular arched head with a fanlight. Each floor has three sash windows with glazing bars (3x4 panes), set in openings with projecting sills. The interior of the buildings has not been inspected.
