Description

This is a town house, dating from around 1815, now used as offices. It is located on London Road in Gloucester, and stands between numbers 18 and 22. The house is built of brick, which has been painted white, with a slate roof and a brick stack. It has a double-depth plan, including a front area.

The exterior features a plain parapet. The ground floor has a doorway to the right with a semicircular fanlight above. A flight of stone steps leads to the entrance, bridging the front basement area. A decorative wrought-iron porch, featuring pierced standards supporting a swept canopy with corner finials, stands in front of the doorway. A window to the left of the doorway was enlarged in the 20th century and is now blocked. The first floor has a tall sash window, and the second floor a shorter sash window, both with glazing bars (the first-floor window has 3x4 panes, and the second-floor window has 3x2 panes). The windows are set within flat-arched stone surrounds with five stepped-and-raised voussoirs and projecting stone sills. The interior of the building was not inspected as part of the listing process.
