Description
The property comprises a farmhouse, now divided into two semi-detached cottages, dating to the mid to late 16th century. It was subdivided into cottages and altered in the early 19th century, with additional rear extensions. The exterior is roughcast on a timber frame and brick construction, with a steeply pitched tile roof and brick ridge and gable-end stacks. Originally a single-depth range with a hall and chamber, it incorporates an outshut at the rear.
The front of No. 181 features a doorway to the right and a double casement window with an upper transom to the left. The first floor has two single casement windows with upper transoms. No. 183 has a doorway to the right, a double casement window to the right, and a similar first-floor casement, all with glazing bars.
The ground-floor front room in No. 183 retains 16th-century deep, richly moulded intersecting beams. The interior of No. 181 was not inspected and appears to have been relined, with no visible historic features.
