Description
The monument to William Boord is located in the churchyard approximately 23 metres south of the southeast corner of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. This chest tomb dates from the mid-18th century and is made of sandstone. It features a thick flat top with a moulded edge, simplified lyre ends, and simple moulded panels. The base was not visible during the survey in November 1983. The inscription, which is difficult to read, appears to be dedicated to William Boord, possibly with the spelling uncertain, and dates from 1732. The monument is situated about 6 metres north of the churchyard boundary wall.
