SO 71 SW WESTBURY-ON-SEVERN WESTBURY VILLAGE

11/261 Cannock monument, in churchyard, about 8m south of south-west corner of Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.

GV II

Chest tomb; mid C18; stone. Flat lid, simply-moulded edge with wide overhang. Corners quarter-square balusters with leaf spray on lower part. South face, main part flanked by narrow panels, carved. Winged head in centre with drooping drapery, caught up by bow in top corners,to fall down ends of main panel. South face rococo framing with winged heads in corners. East end plain, west raised circle in centre, surrounded poppies. 'In pious memory of' Richard Cannock died 1768, also commemorates his wife, died 1747.
