Mill, About 150 Metres East South East Of Pauntley Court

This building is a mill and barn located about 150 meters east-south-east of Pauntley Court, likely dating from the mid-18th century. It features well-squared, coursed stone on the gable facing the house, with coursed, rougher stone on the right side and random rubble on the left. The roof is covered with multi-roll Bridgewater tiles and the structure has seven bays, with part of it lofted.

The gable facing the house has a plinth and a wide, boarded door positioned partway up the wall, which has a cambered head made of stone voussoirs and a projecting keystone. There are tall Latin-cross air vents on each side of the gable, and a cast-iron fire back built into the gable above, dated 1610. The gable is crow-stepped, with projecting copings at each step.

On the right side, there are two slit air vents stacked one above the other, along with a wide cambered-head opening that has an arch about half the height of the wall, with brick jambs, a rebate for doors, and stone hinge blocks. To the right of this opening is another slit air vent and a wide door leading to the loft above. Further right, there is another doorway similar to the first, along with two more slit air vents, one at each level. At the far right end, there is a brick arch over an opening for the leat.

Internally, the loft is present only in the right-hand half, and some framing for mill machinery remains. The trusses feature a slight king post, one pair of purlins, and a square ridge. The mill was built as an eyecatcher for the house.
