Description
The monument to Bertha Evans is located in the churchyard approximately 18 metres south of the southeast chancel corner of the Church of St Mary. This chest tomb, dating from the late 18th century, is made of sandstone and features a flat top with a chamfered edge, small quarter balusters, plain panels, and a chamfered base. Although the monument commemorates Bertha Evans, who died in 1823, its design is likely older than this date. At the time of the survey in November 1983, the monument was noted to be leaning and is situated north of the William Boord monument.
