Description
The monument to Warren Silcocks is located in the churchyard about 7 metres south of the southeast corner of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew. This mid-18th century pedestal tomb is made of sandstone and features a flat top with reserved corners along the moulded edge. It has heavy bolstered ends on the east and west sides, and slightly margined panels on the north and south. The inscription commemorates Warren Silcocks, who died in 1746, and also includes a tribute to him as a blacksmith, with an additional inscription to the south noting his death in 1843.
