Description

Roseville is a detached dwelling located on Severn View Road in Netherend, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with brick gable stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-windowed façade with 12-pane sash windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panel fielded door, which is partly glazed, and is topped by plain transom lights. The ground floor windows have plain splayed stone lintels. To the right, there is a single-storey extension that includes a multi-pane shop window and a plank door. The back range of the building is rendered and features a heavy stack, suggesting it may be older than the front. The full width of the frontage is bordered by iron spear-head railings with end returns to the façade, set on a small plinth wall, and there is a central gate. This building is a well-preserved example of local vernacular architecture from this period.
