Description
The Scudamore Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 meters south of the tower of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. It commemorates Richard Scudamore, who died in 1829, and was crafted by I. Preece of Sellack. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge and flat rectangular sides that have a tooled recess, creating a large oval panel. The ends of the tomb are similar in design but are framed by a baluster outline, which is shaped only at the ends of the long sides. The inscription is well cut in a mix of upper and lower case lettering, with some italic styling.
