11/273 Bennett monument, in churchyard, about 3.5m south of south-east corner of south aisle, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

GV II

Chest tomb: first decade C19; stone. Flat lid, moulded edge, slightly indented corners on long sides. Sides, moulded frame to main panel, which curves back at edges to give relief to frame. Ends elongated pilasters, egg-and-dart moulding on capital, raised panel on main face of shaft, end of one on short returns cut short by main body of tomb. Moulded top to plinth. Commemorates Thomas Bennett of Rodley, died 1809, his daughter 1806. Other later inscriptions.
