Description
Glynch Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with an extension added in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features brick-nogged timber framing on a stone plinth, with Flemish bond brickwork on the extension, and has tiled roofs. The building has an 'I' plan and consists of three or four bays, with a one-and-a-half storey wing and a two-storey one-bay extension at the rear.
The entrance facade showcases timber framing that is three panels high up to the eaves. To the right, there is a two-light casement window and a four-panel door with a glazed top and flush bottom, flanked by two-light casements with iron opening lights. To the left, there is a single-storey canted bay with a two-light casement and a flat roof. Above, there are gabled dormers with a three-light casement on the right and a five-light casement on the left. The brick extension to the left features openings with cambered brick arches.
On the right side at ground level, there is a four-panel door with a glazed top and flush bottom, next to a three-light casement window. Above this, there is a two-light window and a three-light casement, with dentil eaves. An external brick chimney is located on the left return, while at the rear of the timber-framed section, there is a large lateral chimney with a squared, coursed stone base. The interior has not been inspected. Glynch Farmhouse forms a group with the nearby barn.
