Description
This house, located adjacent to the Good News Centre on Newent High Street, dates from the late 18th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a tiled roof. The building is three windows wide and two rooms deep, standing two storeys tall.
On the left side, there is a projecting chimney stack and a plain string course at the level of the first-floor window heads, which is truncated just above the eaves. The left side has a two-light casement window with a segmental head, a rubbed-brick arch with a projecting keystone, and a stone sill. The front door has six panels, with the top being fielded and the bottom two being flush, set within plain reveals and a moulded surround that has plain block bases. Above the door, there is a frieze with paterae, and consoles support a pediment. To the right, there is a similar window, along with two additional windows on the first floor. The building also features moulded timber eaves.
