Description
The Brasington monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard against the north wall of the vestry wing of the Church of St. Mary, approximately 5 meters from the west end. It commemorates Thomas Brasington, who died in 1808, and is made of stone. The tomb features a pyramid top with a scotia mould and has two steps leading up to a weathered lid with a moulded edge. The sides are adorned with a vertical leaf frieze and elongated quarter-square corner balusters, while the oval panels on the sides include scrolls in the spandrels and are supported by a moulded base.
