Description
The Gardiner monument is a chest tomb located about 6 meters north of the tower of the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Westbury-on-Severn. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge that is slightly indented on the long sides at the corners. The sides have a narrow margin with a moulded edge surrounding a panel, which curves back at the edges to create depth in the margin and reduce cutting. The ends of the tomb are designed with elongated rectangular balusters and a raised panel on the stem.
