Description
The monument to Richard Barrow is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 metres southwest of the porch of the Church of St Andrew. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a thick flat top with a moulded edge, quarter balusters, and fielded panels on the north and south sides, although the short ends are very worn. The base is not visible, and the top is displaced with the monument being overgrown as of the survey in September 1983. It has good incised lettering, with the earliest inscription reading "Richard Barrow, 1720." This monument is part of a compact group of six monuments located near the porch.
