Description
The Browning monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 16 meters north of the northeast corner of the tower of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. It was likely created around 1833 and is made of stone. The tomb features a small, square reeded dome with a swept cap that leads down to a short upstand and a moulded edge on the lid. The top of the dome is missing, which may have originally held an iron ball finial, similar to the nearby Barrett tomb. The corners of the monument are supported by plain columns that do not have bases or capitals. The north and south faces of the tomb have plain rectangular panels with a raised, beaded edge, while the east and west panels are outlined with a recessed line. The original inscription on the monument is mostly worn away, with the earliest legible date being 1833.
