Description
The Independent Congregational Chapel, dated 1842 on the porch, is a chapel located at the corner of Bank Street and Sparrow Hill in Coleford. It is constructed of stucco and features a hipped slate roof with a central stack that is capped. The building has two storeys and a parapet wall. There are three windows, with the centre window projecting forward; these are round-headed and consist of paired round-headed lights with a circular feature above. A flat sillband runs beneath the windows. Access to the chapel is via six stone steps leading up to a set of fielded three-panel double doors located in the centre, which are sheltered by a projecting Doric porch supported by two columns that do not have bases. Above the cornice of the porch, the words "Independent Chapel" are inscribed on the centre bay.
