Description
Two unidentified monuments are located in the churchyard about 1 metre southeast of the southeast corner of the south aisle of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. These are mid-18th century chest tombs made of stone, built one against the other. They feature flat lids with simply moulded edges, and their sides are weathered. The northernmost face may have been decorated, while the southernmost is plain. The ends of the northern tomb have quarter-square gadrooned balusters at the corners and a rectangular panel that depicts a serpent of eternity surrounding an hourglass, with feathers on the sides and fronds above. The southern tomb has lyre ends, with scrolls and poppies framing a narrow rectangular panel that contains a reduced version of the serpent, hourglass, fronds, and feathers.
