Description
The Baynham monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 9 metres south of the tower of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat top with a wide projection and a moulded edge. The north side has a fielded panel, while the south side has a raised panel, and there are sunk panels on the ends, all appearing to be from the same period. The corners are adorned with quarter-square balusters that have gadrooned capitals. There is no plinth, likely due to the monument sinking into the ground. The inscriptions on the tomb date between 1771 and 1797.
