Description
The Wheatsheaf is a former inn that has been converted into a semi-detached house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a limestone slate roof and featuring a brick stack. There is a rectangular garage extension added to the left gable end in the 20th century and a 19th-century extension at the rear right. The original structure has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by a single two-light roof dormer. The facade has two windows, featuring two and three-light double-chamfered, stone-mullioned casements, with the ground floor windows sharing a single stopped hood. The former central door has been blocked, and the entrance is now located through the 19th-century extension at the rear right. There is a stack at the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
