Description

The War Memorial, established around 1920, commemorates the soldiers from Paxford who lost their lives in the First World War.

Constructed from stone, the memorial features an obelisk that stands on a square plinth, which is set atop a slightly larger square base. This entire structure is elevated on a three-stepped stone platform. At each corner of the second step of the platform, there are posts shaped like smaller obelisks.

The inscriptions on the plinth, base, and top step of the platform read: "IN LOVING MEMORY OF / THE SOLDIERS OF / PAXFORD / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR / ENGLAND AND THE WORLD," followed by the names of the eleven men from the village who died during the war.
