Description

This building is a 19th-century housing structure for a former village tap, constructed under the patronage of Sir J.M. Steele Graves. It is made of polychrome brick and features limestone capping stones. In front, there is a two-pier iron balustrade with a single connecting bar. The housing is free-standing and has an arched recess with a segmental head that once housed the tap. There is a religious inscription on the capping above. This tap was one of three sources of piped water in the village, similar to another one located on the east side of the High Street.
