Description
Orchard Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with a 20th-century rendered extension on the right gable end and a flat-roofed sun loggia on the left gable end, which is not of special interest. The cottage features a square-panelled timber-framed porch with brick and wattle and daub infill. The left gable end wall is made of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone. The thatched roof is hipped on the right side. The building has two storeys with two dormers that have thatched hoods. All windows are 20th-century wood casements with glazing bars, and there is a single light fire window on the left. The front door, located off centre to the right, has a 20th-century thatched hood above it. Inside, there is a large stone fireplace with a bressumer and a bread oven with an oven door on the right. Additionally, there is a niche with a pointed head and carved spandrels.
