Description

This building is a housing structure for the former village tap, dating from the 19th century and built under the patronage of Sir J.M. Steele Graves. It is made of polychrome brick and features limestone capping stones. In front, there is a two-pier iron balustrade with a single connecting bar. The housing is free-standing and has an arched recess with a segmental head that once housed the tap. There is a Biblical inscription on the capping above. This tap was one of three sources of piped water in the village, similar to the one located at the end of Chapel Lane.
