Description
Rose Cottage, on the left, and Sandy Furlong, on the right, are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from the 18th century, with a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the rear that is not of listing quality. The houses are constructed from coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, topped with a limestone slate roof. They feature flat gable coping at the gable ends and ashlar gable end stacks. The buildings are two storeys high and symmetrical in design, with three windows across the front, including a central window that is divided between the two properties. The windows consist of single lights with stone surrounds, as well as two and three-light stone mullioned casements, all fitted with metal windows and glazing bars. There are stopped hoods over the three-light windows and over the doors, along with short flat hoods over the single lights. The two part-glazed doors, which are from the 20th century, are positioned off centre to the right and left, respectively.
