Description
The former stable attached to the east of the inner gateway to Old Campden House dates from the 17th century and incorporates materials from Campden House, which was destroyed in 1645. The building is two storeys high and constructed from coursed and squared ashlar-type rubble, set on a chamfered plinth. Much of the stone, particularly at the rear, is discoloured due to fire damage. It features a Cotswold stone roof and has two windows and one window on the first floor, with two windows on the ground floor. There are three doors on the ground floor, two of which have Tudor arch heads. The north gable end includes a blocked low Tudor arch doorway. There is a lower 19th-century 1½ storey stable extension to the west that connects with the inner gate.
