Description
The wall between the Court House and the garage to the south of the Court House is likely part of Baptist Hicks's layout from around 1612. It stands about 7 to 8 feet high and is made of squared and roughly coursed rubble with weathered coping. To the left, there is a blocked Tudor arch doorway alongside a blocked mullion window. The main feature is a moulded doorway with a depressed pointed arch, which has a moulded double panel above it, supported by extended pilasters and corbels at impost height. This wall is an important part of the Court House group and significantly contributes to the character of Calf's Lane.
