Description

This small, detached cottage is likely late 17th century. It’s constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and a stone end stack to the left. The main range is two storeys and an attic, with a rear wing of single storey and attic, and a single-storey wing to the left featuring an asbestos roof in a diamond pattern and a stone end stack raised in brick. The front elevation has one window, with paired casements under a timber lintel; the ground-floor window is larger, and there is a gabled dormer with a stone slate-hung gable. A half-glazed door is also set under a timber lintel. The right-hand return displays a very small light with a large timber lintel approximately at first-floor level to the left, and a central attic light, indicating a possible staircase. A fine ornamental wrought iron gate is a notable feature.
