Description

Smuggs Barn Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with a stone slate roof on the main body and a concrete tile roof on the lean-to at the rear. The cottage is 1 and a half storeys high and features a symmetrical facade with two windows. The ground floor has two 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, while the upper floor has two half dormers with 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements. A central part-glazed door, which is from the 20th century, is set beneath a hipped canopy. There is a gable-end stack, and the interior has not been inspected.
