Description
Hawks Lane House is a detached house built in the early 18th century, with a later extension likely from the 19th century. It features limestone rubble walls with dressed stone quoins and a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. The building has a rectangular plan, with its gable end facing the road and a later extension at the rear left. There is a 20th-century conservatory on the right gable end.
The house is two storeys high, with an attic and cellar. The two-windowed facade is illuminated by double-chamfered stone-mullioned cross windows that have relieving arches. Above the eaves, there are two segmental-headed slate-hung roof dormers. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century glass door with glazing bars. The gable end facing the road has a single 19th-century two-light wooden casement window.
The extension features 2 and 3-light wooden casements with leaded panes on the ground floor, a 20th-century slate-hung raking half dormer, and a fixed two-light casement on the first floor. There is also a 20th-century plank door within a dressed stone surround at the lower right, along with a circular window to the right of the door. The main body of the house has steeply pitched gables with flat coping and gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
