Description
Peter's Farm (Old) House is an early 18th-century building, likely remodeled after a fire. It stands two and a half storeys tall, constructed of Lias-like Cotswold stone rubble, which shows some discoloration from fire damage. The roof is modern tiled with end chimneys, and the south end features ashlar stonework. The house has two windows with three light chamfered stone mullions and a central chamfered doorway. There is a glazed porch, gable end garret lights, and a gabled dormer at the rear. The rear wall includes a double transomed stair window to the left and later extensions. Inside, the house retains a bread oven and an inglenook fireplace, which has been bricked in, along with some raised and fielded panelling in the main room. The main beam and panelling are possibly from the 19th century, and it is said that the external walls were formerly rendered in dung.
