Description
Seven Wells Farmhouse is a building that was remodeled in 1830 by General Lygon. It retains only one fireplace and the gable end wall of the original house, which is likely from the early 18th century. The structure is made of coursed and squared rubble, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and a stone tile roof, with chimneys at both ends. The farmhouse has three timber cross mullion windows: a two-light window in the center and three-light windows on the outer sides, all with leaded casements. An arched central doorway is present, and there is a hipped extension to the right that includes an angled bay on the ground floor. The farmhouse is situated on the Spring Hill Estate, laid out by General Lygon to commemorate the battle of Waterloo.
