Description
Five monuments in the churchyard of the Church of St. Peter, located approximately 4 to 8 meters south of the chancel, date from the late 17th century to early 18th century and are made of limestone. The first pair of headstones is situated about 8 meters south of the chancel. The left-hand headstone features a segmental head and an oval inscription plaque that lacks a legible inscription, topped with a winged cherub's head. It is adorned with ornate floral scrollwork around the inscription plaque. The right-hand headstone has a central head at the top, flanked by scrolls and decorated with fruit-like motifs below. It includes a rectangular inscription plaque with a moulded margin and a keystone. Behind this pair is a row of three matching headstones, all set back and featuring segmental heads with moulded margins and foliate decoration. These headstones also have segmental-headed inscription plaques without legible inscriptions, each with a keystone decorated with fruit and flowers within spandrels. This group of stones is noted for its unusually rich design and fine carving.
