Description

A barn and outbuildings dating from the 18th century, situated approximately 10 metres east of Heylens Farm. The barn is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, set upon a limestone rubble plinth, with a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular plan, featuring a projecting porch on the west side. A double-width opening with a sliding door is located opposite the porch. To the right of the porch are stables that project forward, creating a small yard, likely formerly open-fronted but now with a wall constructed from artificial stone. A cowhouse is attached to the left gable end of the barn. Stable-type doors provide access to the cowhouse and stables. The gable ends are finished with flat coping, and include ball finials, though the finial on the porch is missing. Inside the barn are four bays with original collar and tie beam trusses, halved apexes, and double purlins.
