Description
The Three Pinniger Monuments are located about 4 to 12 metres northeast of the northeast corner of the chancel in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints in Down Ampney. These monuments consist of three identical chest tombs commemorating John Pinniger, who died in 1842; John Pinniger Cook, who died in 1840; and Thomas Pinniger, who died in 1827. They are made of limestone and feature a stepped tent top with a moulded plinth and capping. The sides are flat and include a low relief cartouche for inscriptions, while the ends have flattened lyre corners. These tombs form a group with two Parker Monuments nearby.
