Description

The Ricketts Monument is a 19th-century pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 1.5 meters south of the porch of the Church of St. Peter in Duntisbourne Abbots. It is made of limestone and features a rectangular shape with recessed fielded inscription panels. The tomb has a moulded base and a cavetto moulded top that is capped with a cyma moulding. The south side of the monument is inscribed to Edward Ricketts, who died in 1801, while the north side bears inscriptions for Mary Ricketts, who died in 1826; Sarah Ricketts, who died in 1841; and John Ricketts, who died in 1851.
