Description
The stables, located approximately 30 meters south-east of Pinchpool Farmhouse, date from the 18th century and are constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone. The roof is made of stone slate and concrete tiles. The building has a rectangular plan and was built in two phases. At the rear right, there are shelter-sheds and a lean-to, which are not of special interest. The stable block features a central plank door set within a dressed stone surround, flanked by single fixed casements with flat-chamfered surrounds. Above this, there is a similar window. A plank door leads to a former loft in the left gable end. To the right, there is an extension with a higher roofline that may have been partly rebuilt, which includes a fixed 6-pane casement at the front and 20th-century double plank doors in the right gable end. This building is part of a farmyard group.
